As promised, we are re-offering the Intellicon wholesale to our membership. In 2009 members ordered over 1000 units.

The Intellicon FA and HW+ are microcomputer controlled devices that saves about 14% of propane/oil usage in the winter and about 28% of your fuel in the summer. It is money-back guaranteed by the manufacturer to save a minimum of 10%. Once installed on your oil burner, it takes 72 hours to take in the operating information of your system. Once armed with that knowledge, it takes control of the burner. At today’s prices for oil, average payback for the device is 8 to 12 months. The HW+ is a sixth generation, programmable unit for hot water systems and may be used on most systems.  The Intellicon FA for forced air systems is also sixth generation with similar technology as you can see in the brochure here.  The HW+ brochure can be found here.

How It Works:

The IntelliCon FA and HW+ processor is able to reduce consumption and wear by extending the burner's run pattern to "match the system's heat load".  This means that the burner is able to produce the same amount of heat while using less fuel by implementing a newly timed burn schedule that extends or mitigates burn cycles while it minimizes fuel consumption.  This process reduces fuel consumption, wear on parts, flue emissions and electrical usage when applied to most new or existing gas or oil burners. The final product is a heating system that uses a more efficient cycle of the burn patterns - See below.  

National Independent Laboratory Testing:

Brookhaven National Laboratory  testing demonstrated a 14.2% reduction in oil usage.

ETL Testing Labs Results: During the Winter, fuel usage was reduced 11.5% and burner run-time was reduced 12.5%. During the Spring/Fall, fuel usage was reduced 27.2% and burner run-time was reduced 28.3%. Brookhaven 14.2%. The Intellicon HW+ provided significantly more savings than the guaranteed minimum 10%.

Compatibility Warning and Refund Policy!

The IntelliCon is for almost everyone.  It will NOT work on late models because they were built with a similar process in place.  This will work on older models are long as they weren't particularly expensive.  Intellicons cannot be installed on steam boiler systems.  If you are unsure whether your newer and/or expensive furnace is compatible please be sure to check with Intellidyne at 866-216-0777.  Make sure you have your make and model number before calling!  Refund Policy: There are no refunds from OTEA for units.  It is manufacturer guaranteed; buyer is responsible for arranging refunds or returns with the manufacturer, also at 866-216-0777.

             Who Should Buy: Anyone with an older oil or propane furnace, whether it be hot water or forced air.  Please specify which system you use so you purchase the correct unit.  Note that an extra sensor is needed for the HW+ unit if your hot water boiler includes a tankless coil to provide hot water for the home.

             Who Should NOT Buy: If you bought a new proportional flame heating system in the last couple of years, you would not see savings to justify purchase. These new systems, cost 30% more than regular systems and have been primarily propane/gas units.  Intellicons will not work on steam boiler systems. Cost and Pricing

Regular list price of the Intellicon HW is $350.00 to $400.00, not including installation.  We are making a wholesale buy.
OTEA price for the HW is $177.50 plus $10 shipping. The  FA is $226. plus $10 shipping.

NOTE! This requires more knowledge to install than the average 'Do-it-yourselfers' possess. It must be programmed. Alton Heating Service, Fieldings Oil and Propane, Lavallee Oil, Pyrofax Energy,  or Eastern Propane will install the units for a flat rate of $140.00.  Alton Heating  services the following towns (click on link) (Alton Heating installs oil units only, no gas.)  If you live in an area not served by one of these dealers, we suggest you negotiate with a local heating contractor using this price.
